J&K police claim to have unearthed a nexus between some government employees, Hurriyat members and militants to foment violence in Sopore, an official release said. According to a stone pelter who was arrested recently, each stone pelter is paid Rs 400 every Friday.
Police said the money was being raised locally by Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani's followers. Most of the money came from fruit mandi and saw mills, the police said.
